I have served as the Lead Designer on Reuters’ U.S. Live Election results for the past three election cycles. In this role, I work with the team to decide how we’ll use the available data and roughly what graphics we want to make. Then, I pitch options for how they might look, take everyone’s feedback and refine the designs. I define the design elements like our colors, buttons, navigation and overall page layout. The process involves a lot of iterating and understanding our goal for each element of the page.

The graphics are totally customizable for our news clients, giving them control over every color and font.

This role has taught me how to receive and apply feedback, consider the user experience and design for complex data.
