hey! I’m Ally.

I write, illustrate and develop visually-driven stories on the Reuters Graphics Desk. I joined Reuters in 2018 and have served as Lead Designer for Reuters' U.S. live election results pages since 2020. I previously worked on ProPublica's News Apps team and the graphics desk at the Los Angeles Times.

Lately, I’ve been considering how the design of our graphics – color, typography, pacing, illustration style – can reveal a story’s emotion and further connect the reader to the subject.

In addition to visual storytelling, I’m stoked on climbing mountains, cooking food for my favorite people and canoeing the Gowanus Canal.
